Dopamine Ventures Kft.

Americans on the ground in Budapest.

International production experience, Hungarian relationships and a direct understanding of how producers, directors and financiers need a shoot to run.

Why Dopamine

We know who to call — and why.

Dopamine connects international productions with the Hungarian companies, studios, crews, locations, services and finance partners that best fit the picture. The goal is not a generic vendor list; it is the right production architecture.

Founder & CEO

Yuri Rutman

Born in Kiev and raised in Chicago, Yuri is a writer, director and executive producer with more than 25 years across independent film and television. He has worked with NBCUniversal, 20th Century Fox, Shorts.TV, Spike TV and Fremantle Media, and maintains relationships with major international film distributors, talent agencies and entertainment financiers. His film Trained was acquired by ShortsTV/AMC Networks, the official distributor of Academy Award–nominated short films. He is also the founder of U.S. distribution company Filmdemand, Inc.

Alongside the creative work, Yuri is a venture founder and advisor who has built and counseled companies inside and outside entertainment — so he bridges finance and financial modeling with creativity. He structures budgets, waterfalls, rebate and co-production models and investor materials with the same instinct he brings to a script, which means productions can talk to one person about both the story and the capital stack.

After attending Depeche Mode at Budapest's Puskás Aréna, Yuri recognized the combination of culture, infrastructure and production economics he had been looking for and chose to relocate from Los Angeles to Budapest. He speaks both his native English and fluent Russian.

Producer & Creative Partner

Scott Drucker

Scott Drucker is a director and cinematographer from Chicago and an MFA graduate of the University of Southern California. His work has won three Cannes Gold Lions and a Clio Grand Prix for the Canadian Down Syndrome Society campaigns “Project Understood” and “Endangered Syndrome,” plus a Clio Sports Bronze for BMO. His thesis film Between the Harvest played more than 20 festivals worldwide, including the Oscar-qualifying Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Flickerfest and Uppsala, and his feature documentary Who Is Arthur Chu? — executive produced by three-time Academy Award winner Mark Jonathan Harris — premiered at Slamdance and Hot Docs and was released by Sony’s Vega Baby Releasing.

Scott has shot narrative and documentary features, series and commercials internationally, In Serbia he photographed feature work on the ground with Belgrade-based crews — an incentive-driven European production run exactly the way a Hungarian shoot runs: local heads of department, local rates, international deliverables. He has also worked in Argentina, Canada, across Europe and throughout the United States, from Los Angeles and Chicago to remote rural units. That is the same pattern Hungary rewards: an American creative who knows how to arrive in a European production center, work with a local crew at local rates and still deliver at an international standard.

At Dopamine he leads creative development and production strategy — we are creatives first, so projects can engage with us at the idea stage — complementing the company’s Budapest network and rebate-finance expertise.
